Messy, Messy
I've been trying to post for the last two days, but words seem to be failing me. All I can say is that I am realizing genuine relationships are messy and sometimes complicated. I'm not in any troubling relationships right now, but the closer I draw to people and the more I open up myself to hear them, their burdens become my own. That is scriptural, but not easy to do.
For your consideration:
Galations 6:2 "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
And what is the law of Christ?
Mark 12:28-30 "One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
There you have it. Simple to say, often arduous and difficult to do.
